Baby's Heartbeat

Yesterday was our second doctor's appointment. We met with the other doctor who could be delivering our baby and he was surprisingly gentle. At our first appointment we got to see the baby's heartbeat and that day we got to hear it!

The doctor had a handy device that was like a microphone on my stomach. It filled the room with the lovely should of our baby's heartbeat! The Dr. likened the slightly muffled but rapid sound to a train. With a huge smile on my face I could help but silently agree and wonder where I could get one of my own microphone devices for home....

chug-chug, chug-chug, chug-chug, chug-chug.....

What a moment that must've been... Have you tried a stethoscope? Not sure about hearing the baby's heartbeat at this early age with that tool, but I bet you'll hear some sort of movement. Hmmm....

We'll look forward to more updates!

Love ya,

This was an amazing experience too. All the more reason why I'm NOT going to miss a Dr's appt with the wifey. I can't help but embrace this whole pregnancy process with her.

I'm really quite in awe of the complexities of the human body and its reproductive process! When the DR placed the attachment onto Len's baby bump and started echoing the sounds of a fast heartbeat, I was just floored. "There's our lil baby working real hard to grow!" He also compared it with her own heartbeat and heard the contrast in heart rate. Wifey summed up the sound of it really well with "chug-chug, chug-chug, chug-chug, chug-chug"

Michelle, we do need to buy a stethoscope! I'm constantly crazy curious about our baby's heart beat. (Oooh, haven't done an alliteration in a while lol)
